SINGAPORE/ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani-flagged tanker, Shalamar, has moved out of the Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz after loading crude oil from the United Arab Emirates, according to shipping data from Kpler and LSEG.
The Aframax vessel departed the strategic waterway on Thursday carrying roughly 440,000 barrels of Abu Dhabiâs Das Blend crude, which was loaded earlier in the week, Kpler reported.
The tanker is scheduled to arrive at Karachi port on April 19 to offload its cargo, based on available tracking data.
Shalamar was among two Pakistani tankers that entered the strait on Sunday to take on crude and refined oil products.
Pakistanâs petroleum minister confirmed on Wednesday that the vessel had loaded crude at an ADNOC terminal in the UAE. Pakistan National Shipping, the operator of Shalamar, did not immediately comment.
Maritime traffic in the strait has slowed in recent days due to a US-imposed blockade.
The US Navy stated in an advisory on Thursday that the blockade has been expanded to include cargoes classified as contraband, warning that vessels suspected of heading toward Iranian territory will be âsubject to belligerent right to visit and search.â
US Central Command added on X that 14 vessels have reversed course in compliance with the blockade after 72 hours of enforcement by American forces.
