ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has retained its representation on the Executive Committee and Financial Committee of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) for the 2026–2029 term, strengthening the country’s role in shaping trade, investment, and private-sector initiatives across member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The development was announced by Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Atif Ikram Sheikh, who said the federation actively participated in the 40th Board of Directors meeting of the ICCD held in Ankara, TĂĽrkiye.
According to the FPCCI, the board reaffirmed its commitment to promoting economic integration, strengthening private-sector participation, fostering strategic partnerships, and creating new opportunities for trade, investment, and sustainable economic growth across the Islamic world and beyond.
A high-level FPCCI delegation, led by Vice President Qurrat Ul Ain, attended the board meeting and related events. The gathering brought together business leaders and senior representatives from 19 member countries to review the ICCD’s strategic priorities and discuss initiatives aimed at boosting trade, investment, entrepreneurship, innovation, and private-sector development.
Qurrat Ul Ain said the board also reviewed the implementation of ongoing strategic programmes focused on strengthening the ICCD’s institutional capacity and governance. Particular attention was given to progress under the B57+ Business Leaders Network, the chamber’s flagship initiative designed to institutionalise business-to-government dialogue, facilitate trade and investment partnerships, and expand collaboration among member countries.
She added that the ICCD organised a series of high-level roundtables, panel discussions, and presentations covering topics including women and youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, capacity building, sustainable development, food security, and investment facilitation, while showcasing successful initiatives and best practices from across the Muslim business community.
Qurrat Ul Ain also participated as a panellist in the session titled “Innovation & Entrepreneurship: Young and Women Entrepreneurs,”
