Wasion Holdings Limited has secured smart metering contracts in Pakistan worth over RMB115 million (around $16.85 million), as the country pushes ahead with modernising its power distribution infrastructure.
In a statement, the company said its subsidiary, Wasion Group Limited, successfully won bids in April 2026 for smart metering products and related services in Pakistan.
“These successful bids fully demonstrate Wasion’s technical strength in integrated energy solutions and its capability to perform international projects. Leveraging years of deep-rooted overseas experience, mature product portfolio, and a continuously advancing localised service network, Wasion’s comprehensive competitiveness and brand influence in the South Asian market have been steadily growing.
“Looking ahead, Wasion will continue to deepen local cooperation, remain committed to technology- driven development, and consistently enhance its global project delivery capabilities, contributing to the high-quality development of power grids and the global energy transition,” the company added.
The development comes as Pakistan ramps up efforts to digitise its energy sector. Recently, the country’s Power Division signed a Transaction Advisory Services Agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, to facilitate the rollout of 10 million smart meters across power distribution companies.
Under the agreement, the IFC will serve as transaction advisor, carrying out a comprehensive techno-commercial assessment for a service-provider model or public-private partnership framework to support large-scale deployment of smart metering infrastructure for 10 million single-phase connections.
According to information available on its website, Wasion is a leading provider of advanced metering, distribution solutions, and energy efficiency management systems in China. Its smart metering portfolio includes electricity, water, and gas meters, as well as energy data collection systems, monitoring devices, and automation solutions.
