ISLAMABAD: In a significant gesture of cultural diplomacy, Romania has presented the official album and written score of the first-ever professional choral arrangement of Pakistan’s national anthem, ‘Qaumi Tarana’, to Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan.
The presentation marks a unique collaboration between Romania and Pakistan, highlighting growing cultural ties between the two nations. The project was realized by the National Chamber Choir Madrigal – Marin Constantin with the support of the Embassy of Romania in Islamabad.
The choral arrangement transforms the original orchestral composition of the national anthem into a refined polyphonic work for soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. While preserving the solemnity and spirit of “Qaumi Tarana”, the composition introduces a new musical dimension that blends Eastern melodic richness with Western harmonic depth.Officials described the album and written score as more than a musical milestone, calling it a symbol of respect for Pakistan’s national identity and a reflection of the shared commitment to cultural dialogue between the two countries.
During the meeting, discussions also focused on enhancing bilateral relations between Romania and Pakistan, particularly in the areas of parliamentary cooperation and economic engagement. Regional developments, including the evolving situation in the Middle East, were also discussed, with both sides emphasizing the importance of dialogue and stability.
Chairman Gilani welcomed the initiative and appreciated the gesture, noting that such cultural exchanges play a vital role in strengthening ties and fostering mutual understanding between nations. The initiative underscores Romania’s contribution to celebrating Pakistan’s cultural heritage through a universal artistic language, further reinforcing the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
