PESHAWAR: Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Finance, Muzzammil Aslam, said federal tax revenues could fall short by Rs800 billion to Rs1,000 billion in the current fiscal year, while the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) has been cut by Rs180 billion.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, he said these developments would lead to a Rs120 billion shortfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s receipts.
Aslam added that the province has already spent over Rs10 billion on flood relief, Rs15 billion on the rehabilitation of internally displaced persons (IDPs), and around Rs10 billion on fuel compensation for motorcyclists, farmers, and public transport.
He said these combined financial pressures have reached approximately Rs150 billion for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with expenditures continuing to rise.
